Anonymous: I simply can't draw hair! Have you got any tips to help? :)
Unfortunately I cant be much help! i kind of wing it every time.
Generally though I fill in solid spaces of shading, the light and shade of the hair, then more defined strands over the top to make it look more realistic! I hope that makes sense haha :)
Anonymous: i find it pretty stupid that you post a line drawing of your art work that is 'reserved' for someone to get tattooed and then write 'do not steal' this is the god damn internet. a million little tumblr trolls probably stole that design and got it tattooed by a backyarder
It was a simple ‘please do not steal’ request, and if people are dumb enough to get it as a shitty home tattoo then it’s their own problem really.
I just like sharing works that I’m proud of, and it’s hard to do that with a watermark or a distorted image because people don’t want to see that, but I guess you’re right.
: Just getting started on working towards a tattoo apprenticeship, I was wondering what colour pencils to get. Any tips? I think I might go with faber castel polychromos! I really like your art :)
Faber castel polychromos seem like the prime choice! Although I may not be the person to ask as I haven’t tried a wide variety of pencils myself. I’ve stuck to Faber castel watercolour pencils as they’re very soft and allow me to get the colours and shading I desire, while also doubling for paint when I feel like painting! Sorry I can’t be more of a help.
Thank you! Good luck with your apprenticeship! :)
: how long does a regular drawing take you without color? for example, the one of jaime on page six?
it really varies depending on who or what i’m drawing, but i’d say that drawing of jaime probably took around 8 hours all up! it’s hard to say because i usually work on things over a few days rather than finishing them in one sitting
thank you for the question! :)
